The first thing I want to make clear, is that philosophically I follow the teachings of Christ. And Krishna. And the Buddha. And Muhammad peace be upon him. And the Torah.
That is, I follow the teachings of compassion.
So.
I’m in hospital, I need a home, lost mine due to stroke, and the social workers send me to a housing unit run by a Christian organization, a reciever of private donations, and government funding, to arrange to rent an apartment in their complex, using my anticipated funds from AISH.
They call themselves the Mustard Seed.
Actually what it is, is a scam meant to extricate all the AISH funding from vulnerable populations and send them to the food bank, conveniently on site, for food.
The details are fuzzy of my interview, but a studio apartment is 200 sq ft and is 500 bucks or so. A 1 bedroom is 400 sq.ft. for 1100. Twice the current market value of one of the most expensive markets in Canada.
A urine test monthly and show I.D. at the security desk to access your ‘home’ to add insult to this economic injury. Throw your own furniture out, its not coming in here, you and your bedbugs.
We will put you on the waiting list once you get AISH.
(Meantime, you can fuck off and wait in the snow, you are no use to us.)
Uumm may I have a drink of water? No. We don’t offer that service. Oh.
Seems like I would have to dump your version Chistianity so as to follow the teachings of Christ.
You may leave now.
Ya think?
I Have Found Me a Home – Jimmy Buffett

The days drift by
They don’t have names
None of the streets here look the same
And there’re so many quiet places
And smilin’ eyes match the smilin’ faces

And I have found me a home
I have found me a home
You can have the rest of everything I own
‘Cause I have found me a home

My ol’ red bike
Gets me around
To the bars and the beaches of my town
There aren’t many reasons I would leave
‘Cause I have found me some peace

And the ladies aren’t demandin’ here
They’ll never ask too much
When you’re comin’ off a cold love
That’s sure a nice warm touch

Yes I have found me a home
I have found me a home
You can have the rest of everything I own
‘Cause I have found me a home

And the days drift by
They don’t have names
And none of the streets here look the same
There aren’t many reasons I would leave
‘Cause I have found me some peace

Yes I have found me a home
I have found me a home
You can have the rest of everything I own
‘Cause I have found me a home
Yes I have found me a home
